America’s Team is more than fantasy-turned-reality soccer, it’s a reality show, too. The American players selected by ATFC members will have the chance to turn around a team renowned for being the worst team in Europe - and perhaps all of professional soccer. As the team journeys from worst to first – the viewers will be glued to the drama, intense action, and suspense as the players invade the Scottish Highlands - all of this set in a town and stadium that has been cited by the BBC as the most scenic in the UK. The show will feature the personality clashes, heated rivalries, relationships and alliances, team conflicts, torrid romances, and ultimately the unity built between the players and their adopted hometown.
Transplanted into the Highlands: This dashing group of amateur and semi-pro American soccer players are dropped in the middle of the Highlands of Scotland, where few if any players come from abroad. They will support the players from Fort William FC, a team that has one of the worst records in professional soccer over the past decade.
All actions will be chosen by ATFC members - who will pick the players who play - they create strategies and decide formations. Members will get the chance to make choices that most only get to do in “fantasy leagues.” Can viewers/members turn around one of Scotland’s worst senior league teams?
This is Total Sensory Drama: The setting is the Highlands of Scotland, across cities and small towns that are passionate about “their game.” Every scene will explode with beauty.
Heroes or Villains? How will the local fans react to Americans playing “their game,” going to their restaurants, pubs, shops, churches, and schools. How about dating their women? It is a group of young fish out of water - in a potentially tough environment. But through sport, can this group of Americans win the hearts of the Highland people?
